Verification you can trace back to a lab report

purehealth is an independent consumer resource. We don't sell supplements, and we don't accept payment from brands to influence a verification outcome. Here's exactly how we reach a result.

Verification steps

Retail-sourced samples only — never manufacturer freebies prepared for testing.

Our process

Five steps from shelf to verification badge

  1. 01

    Retail sourcing, not manufacturer samples

We purchase products directly from retail shelves or verified online listings — the same units a consumer would buy — rather than accepting free samples from manufacturers.

  2. 02

    Chain-of-custody logging

Every sample is logged with its lot number, purchase date, purchase location, and photographic documentation before it's sent to a testing partner.

  3. 03

    Accredited independent lab testing

Testing is performed by ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratories using pharmacopeial methods (USP, AOAC) for potency, contaminants, and microbial safety.

  4. 04

    Scoring against published thresholds

Lab results are converted into a trust score using thresholds published in our verification standards — the same thresholds for every brand.

  5. 05

    Publication and periodic re-testing

Verified status is published with the lab ID and test date attached. Products are re-tested on a rolling schedule, after a formula change, or after a credible consumer report.

Advisory principles

What guides how we report a result

Evidence over anecdote

We prioritize peer-reviewed research and pharmacopeial standards over testimonials or marketing claims.

No pay-to-verify model

Brands cannot purchase a verification badge. Testing costs are covered by our organization and independent grants.

Consumer reports matter

Credible consumer safety reports can trigger an out-of-cycle re-test, independent of current status.

Right of response

Manufacturers are notified of a flagged result and may respond or submit a corrected batch before publication.

Transparency statement

What we are — and what we're not

purehealth is an independent, non-retail information platform. We do not manufacture, distribute, or sell any of the products referenced on this site, and we do not accept advertising placements that influence verification outcomes.

We are not a government agency and our verification badge is not a regulatory approval. It reflects the results of the specific lab tests described on each product's verification record, as of the date shown.
